A SCHLUMBERGER
ORIGINAL

Jean Schlumberger revived the lost art of
paillonné enamel, a painstaking process of
layering enamel over 18k gold leaf.
Using this centuries-old technique,
Schlumberger created some of the greatest
jewelry designs of all time—shimmering
bangles spiked with gold or studded
with colored gemstones. His magnificent
creations have become the style
signature of first ladies, film stars and
fashion editors. They have been frequently
copied, but never duplicated.

“For me, the art of the jewel is above all a means of expression with possibilities of pure and durable beauty which go beyond the usual framework of fashion.”
