in the now
where all the words...
you and me.
holding you tight...
to make sure
you are real.
A word from the Artist
I have been shooting pictures of couples for many years now. It first came about as a personal project. I wanted to attempt to make
people feel something within themselves when they looked at my photographs—maybe a memory or a sense of longing.
I thought about a subject and decided that love and romance would be perfect. My first attempts did not work, though,
as I cast random good-looking people who were not actual couples. Something in the look of the eyes or the body language didn’t translate
as true love.
So I made a simple change: I cast couples who were lovers in real life instead. Suddenly everything was different. Now, when I
looked at the pictures, it felt like I was being invited into their real relationships.
