Tiffany & Co. Wins at the Grand Prix de la Haute Joaillerie

Inspired by the House’s emblematic Bird on a Rock, our Legendary Bird: Argyle Edition brooch captures the motif’s bold artistry and showcases Tiffany & Co.’s mastery of rare gemstones. Adorned with rare Argyle Pink™ diamonds and perched on a sculpted gold branch set with over 500 diamonds, the design celebrates the House’s long-standing commitment to creativity, gemstone provenance and exceptional craft.

The Grand Prix honored the Butterflies choker with the Heritage Prize for its timeless artistry and storied history. Designed in 1956 by Jean Schlumberger and now held in the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Collection, the piece was inspired by his friend, philanthropist and horticulturist Rachel “Bunny” Mellon, who envisioned a necklace capturing the beauty of butterflies. Showcasing a medley of diamonds, turquoises, amethysts, sapphires and spinels, it was among Schlumberger’s first high jewelry commissions for Tiffany & Co., arranged to showcase its dynamic colors and evoke the graceful movement of butterflies in flight.
